His  talk, &#8220;Love: Just Like a Woman,&#8221; will take place this evening, Monday, January  31, at 6 PM in the Richards-Roosevelt Room, Mugar Memorial Library, 771  Comm Ave, First Floor. Admission is free to all.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside his work as a literary critical and editor of scholarly anthologies and editions, Prof. Ricks is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.observer.com\/node\/49391\">famous<\/a> for his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/stories\/2004\/10\/10\/sunday\/main648439.shtml\">longstanding<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/books\/reviews\/dylans-visions-of-sin-by-christopher-ricksbrchimes-of-freedom-the-politics-of-bob-dylans-art-by-mike-marqusee-581287.html\">interest<\/a> in the lyrics of Bob Dylan considered <em>as <\/em>poetry. In 2004, he published a book-length treatment of this topic, titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Dylans-Visions-Sin-Christopher-Ricks\/dp\/0060599235\"><em>Dylan&#8217;s Visions of Sin<\/em><\/a>. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beachamjournal.com\/journal\/2009\/11\/christopher-ricks-dylan-is-a-special-kind-of-genius.html\">blogger Frank Beacham<\/a>, who attended one of Ricks&#8217; talks on Dylan last fall at New York&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philoctetes.org\/Past_Programs\/The_Inventions_of_Bob_Dylan\">Philoctetes Center<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On Dylan\u2019s  songwriting, Ricks said it\u2019s good to have instinct, but one can also  think too much. \u201cYou must program your brain not to think too much,\u201d he  said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to keep your brain under control.
