Read on!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Palpatine&#8211;er, Ian McDiarmid&#8211;plays the titular character in <em>Faust x2<\/em>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/theatre\/what-to-see\/faust-x2-watermill-theatre-newbury-ian-mcdiarmid-review\/\"> a musical and condensed version of Goethe&#8217;s poem<\/a>, adapted by the actor himself and directed by Lisa Blair. Runs from March 2 to March 25 at the Watermill Theatre in Bagnor, Newbury, UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"width: 251px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/content\/dam\/theatre\/2017\/03\/12\/faust1-xlarge_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqndiIBtEViA84rOw8lBGavXzCwwhXiGzJaOe_zX4ZzYs.jpg\" width=\"241\" height=\"386\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;You sounds of heaven, powerful and gentle, \/ why do you seek me in the dust?&#8221; Credit: Philip Tull.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>According to medical historian Dr. Howard Markel, tuberculosis is disgusting, and by extension, <a href=\"http:\/\/michiganradio.org\/post\/classic-poet-john-keats-death-was-probably-disgusting\">John Keats<\/a>, which we already knew. Just kidding, we love Keats and think he was beautiful, but we also agree that TB is not a poetic or romantic disease in the least.<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of Keats: here on the Core blog, we love anniversaries, and we certainly have celebrated a lot in the past year. 2017 is the 200-year anniversary of Keats&#8217; first book of poems, which alarmingly received &#8220;terrible reviews.&#8221; Undeterred, actress Ruth Rosen of Hampstead, UK, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hamhigh.co.uk\/etcetera\/books\/national_theatre_stages_poetry_recital_to_mark_200th_anniversary_of_keats_poetry_1_4900603\">held a tribute to the poet earlier this month<\/a> on March 2, at the National Theatre in London.<\/li>\n<li>Guess who <em>else<\/em> is celebrating an anniversary soon? If you guessed Karl Marx, go get a Snickers from the Core candy basket (provided the basket hasn&#8217;t been raided by ravenous Corelings).
