Espaillat<\/a> to study disks of gas and dust, called protoplanetary disks, around young stars. I apply models to multi-wavelength data to connect\u00a0magnetospheric accretion to a broad range of interdisciplinary topics, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>formation pathways for ultra-short-period planets<\/li>\n<li>high energy irradiation of the disk<\/li>\n<li>angular momentum regulation<\/li>\n<li>the star-disk connection<\/li>\n<li>the star-cloud connection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My work bridges the gap between observation and theory and provides observation-informed model constraints.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2020, I have managed the website, membership, and database for\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/odysseus\/\">ODYSSEUS collaboration<\/a>, a ~100-member consortium of T Tauri star experts representing 19 different countries.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to research, I am passionate about science communication, science policy, outreach, and effective mentorship.
