Lisa Hiton (Poetry 2011) has recently published two poems. \u00a0“Dream of My Father\u2019s Shiva, Auschwitz, 1942”<\/a> appears in\u00a0Leveler<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0accompanied by some thoughts on the poem from the editors. “Lethargy”<\/a> is in Lambda Literary Review<\/a>, <\/em>and we found it\u00a0particularly relevant\u00a0in light of the tragedies in Orlando.<\/p>\n

It begins:<\/p>\n

I am ill with history.<\/em>
\n With watching it happen<\/em>
\n and not belonging to it. In the efforts of<\/em>
\nlesbianism, I have fallen<\/em>
\n asleep.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lisa Hiton holds an M.F.A. in poetry from Boston University and an M.Ed. in Arts in Education from Harvard University. Her poems have been published or are forthcoming in <\/span>Linebreak, The Paris-American, Hayden\u2019s Ferry Review,<\/em> and<\/span>LAMBDA Literary<\/em> among others. Her first book has been a finalist or semi-finalist for the New Issues Poetry Prize, the Brittingham & Felix Pollack Poetry Prize, the Crab Orchard Review first book prize, and the YesYes Books open reading period.
