McKee, translations\u00a0by Mirza Puri\u0107, and photographic responses to the pieces by Vanja \u010cerimagi\u0107.<\/p>\n<p>Stacy\u00a0begins:\u00a0<em>In the fall of 2015, as people fleeing Syria and elsewhere for Europe were being stopped en masse at borders, two writers\u2019 collectives to which I belong \u2013 one based primarily in Sarajevo, one in Atlanta \u2013 decided to engage in a collaborative artistic response. We called it The Borders Project.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Read the rest of the introduction <a href=\"http:\/\/www.europenowjournal.org\/2017\/06\/05\/the-borders-project-introduction\/\">here<\/a>, and view the complete installment <a href=\"http:\/\/www.europenowjournal.org\/category\/literary\/the-borders-project\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Congrats, Stacy!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stacymattingly.com\/\">Stacy Mattingly<\/a><span> is a U.S. writer and the founder of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sarajevoww.com\/\">Sarajevo Writers\u2019 Workshop<\/a><span>, a bilingual group of poets and prose writers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also co-founded Atlanta\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.narrativecollective.com\/\">Narrative Collective<\/a><span> with poet L.S. McKee. Stacy holds an MFA in fiction from Boston University, where she was a Marcia Trimble Fellow, a Leslie Epstein Global Fellow, and recipient of the Florence Engel Randall Graduate Fiction Award. She has worked as a coauthor on books including, with Ashley Smith, the New York Times bestseller <\/span><em>Unlikely Angel<\/em><span>, an Atlanta hostage story released last fall as a feature film, <\/span><em>Captive<\/em><span>. Stacy has taught creative writing at Boston University and helped lead the first Narrative Witness exchange for the University of Iowa\u2019s International Writing Program.
