Ryan&#8217;s first book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Stranger-World-Ryan-Wilson\/dp\/193957420X\"><em>The Stranger World<\/em><\/a>, was awarded the 2017 Donald Justice Poetry Prize. The book is out in hardcover via Measure Press \/ West Chester University Poetry Center. Hearty congratulations, Ryan!<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his book, Ryan has had a slew of other pieces accepted for publication. His essay \u201cEliot\u2019s Magic\u201d appeared in the Winter 2017 issue of <em>The Hopkins Review<\/em>, and his essay \u201cThe Polyvocal Poet: Tradition, Translation, and the True Original\u201d will be in the <em>Birmingham Poetry Review<\/em>, which will also feature his original poem, \u201cLemons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ryan has a number of other original poems forthcoming: \u201cComplainte du Miroir\u201d in the Winter 2017 issue of <em>Innisfree Poetry Journal<\/em>, \u201cYo La Tengo\u201d in the Summer issue of <em>Five Points<\/em>, and \u201cFor a Dog\u201d in the October issue of <em>The Yale Review<\/em>. Ryan also published perhaps the first English-language bref double, \u201cFace It,\u201d in the March 2017 issue of <em>The New Criterion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Ten of Ryan&#8217;s translations (including versions of Dante, Baudelaire, Catullus, Giovanni Pascoli, Rilke, and Verlaine) as well as a short essay, \u201cLove Strong as Death: On the Poetry of The Song of Songs,\u201d appear in the Candlemas 2017 issue of <em>Dappled Things<\/em>. \u00a0He also published three translations (Horace\u2019s second and fifth epodes and Baudelaire\u2019s <em>Au Lecteur<\/em>) in the Winter 2017 issue of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unsplendid.com\/6\/6-3\/6-3_frames.htm\">Unsplendid<\/a><\/em>, and he has two forthcoming translations from Horace\u2019s odes: ode ii.3 in <em>Measure<\/em> and ode ii.10 in <em>Able Muse<\/em>. Ryan also published a short prose tribute to the poet, Dave Smith, in the current issue of <em>Five Points<\/em>, alongside similar contributions from Richard Ford, Edward Hirsch, Yusef Komunyakaa, Helen Vendler, Charles Wright, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Ryan has just launched issue 9.3 of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.literarymatters.org\/issue-9-3\">Literary Matters<\/a><\/em> , the online journal he edits for the Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers, completing his first volume (3 issues) for the journal. Over the past year, <em>Literary Matters<\/em> has published writers such as: David Bottoms, David Bromwich, Kelly Cherry, Judith Ortiz Cofer, Erica Dawson, David Ferry, Rachel Hadas, Ernest Hilbert, Joan Houlihan, Jee Leong Koh, Brad Leithauser, Marjorie Perloff, A.E. Stallings, Jean Valentine, Rosanna Warren, and David Yezzi, alongside a number of current and former B.U. students.
