We’re so pleased to share publication news from Jordan Coriza (Fiction ’08)! \u00a0His\u00a0story “The Fittest” is out in the current issue of the Worcester Review<\/a>. \u00a0<\/em>Jordan says,\u00a0“It\u2019s about\u00a0Agustin, a recurrent\u00a0protagonist in my stories, who is constantly trying to make sense of some traumatic events of his childhood.”<\/p>\n

Jordan’s story “The Dead Phone” was also a finalist in the Robert and Adele Schiff Awards in Poetry and Prose<\/a> (Cincinnati Review<\/em>). \u00a0It “tells the story of a woman who, desperate in the wake of her husband\u2019s murder, helps the people of her community connect to the disappeared. The story is set in 1980 Argentina during the country\u2019s last military dictatorship, where tens of thousands of people disappeared at the hands of the regime. I am currently working on turning that story into a novel.”<\/p>\n

We also asked Jordan what he was reading these days, and he says, “Two authors I\u2019ve been devouring lately are Ottessa Moshfegh<\/a> and Dan Chaon<\/a>. I love their voice, style, and the subject matter that seems to interest them.”<\/p>\n

Jordan Coriza is from Argentina, the primary inspiration and setting for his fiction. A longtime resident of Boston, Jordan makes a living as a communications professional for a global health NGO.
