In addition, Aaron&#8217;s\u00a0ekphrastic ghazal \u201c<\/span><i>Sun in an Empty Room<\/i><span>, 1963\u201d will be published in the Summer\/Fall 2019 issue of\u00a0<\/span><i>Think: A Journal of Poetry, Fiction, and Essays<\/i><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Aaron had this to say about the poems:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/crwr\/2019\/09\/17\/aaron-caycedo-kimura-publishes-three-poems\/aaronheadshot\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2742\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/crwr\/files\/2019\/09\/AaronHeadshot-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"AaronHeadshot\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2742\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/crwr\/files\/2019\/09\/AaronHeadshot-235x300.jpg 235w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/crwr\/files\/2019\/09\/AaronHeadshot-768x979.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/crwr\/files\/2019\/09\/AaronHeadshot-803x1024.jpg 803w, https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/crwr\/files\/2019\/09\/AaronHeadshot.jpg 1004w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>I\u2019ve written a lot about my parents since they passed away\u2014my father in 2011 and my mother in 2015. In doing so, I continue to honor them and keep their memory alive in my life. \u201cArtificial Flavors\u201d is based on a childhood memory at the salon where my mother used to get her hair done, and \u201cSun in an Empty Room, 1963\u201d (an ekphrastic ghazal) is about my last walkthrough of her empty house before I sold it. \u201cMemorial\u201d is about my father and his college friend who tried to connect with him after he died.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thank you, Aaron, for sharing your work with us.\u00a0 What a beautiful way to honor your parents.\u00a0 We look forward to seeing these poems in print.\u00a0 Congratulations!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aaron Caycedo-Kimura <\/strong>is a poet, painter, and cartoonist.
