You can <a href=\"http:\/\/fenwaypress.wordpress.com\/bread-on-running-waters-ani-gjika\/\">order your copy of her remarkable debut here. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>In her wonderful introduction to the collection, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/poet.php\/prmPID\/188\">Rosanna Warren<\/a> lauds the way that &#8220;Gjika has turned English, her adopted language, into a subtle   instrument, a beautifully judged voicing that never slides into   self-pity or melodrama, never loses its cool&#8230;The justness of   Gjika\u2019s phrasing has everything to do with her exact and trustworthy   weighing of justice, the unspoken norms of decency that stand, immensely   implied, in the background of these poems whether set in or out of   Albania.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in Albania, Ani Gjika moved to the U.S. at age 18 and   studied poetry writing at Simmons College and Boston University. She is   the recipient of a 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/world\/\">Robert Pinsky Global Fellowship<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/world\/2010-global-fellows\/ani-gjika-albania\/\">which took her to Albania<\/a>, and winner of a   2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mlcl\/2012\/03\/15\/2012-robert-fitzgerald-translation-prize-accepting-submissions\/\">Robert Fitzgerald Translation Prize<\/a>. <em><a href=\"http:\/\/fenwaypress.wordpress.com\/bread-on-running-waters-ani-gjika\/\">Bread on   Running Waters<\/a> <\/em>was a finalist for the 2011 <a href=\"http:\/\/waywiser-press.com\/hechtprize2012.html\">Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize<\/a> and 2011 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bauhanpublishing.com\/contest\/\">May Sarton New Hampshire Book Prize<\/a>.
