Lots of good news to share.<\/p>\n<p>First up: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisahiton.com\/\">Lisa Hiton<\/a> (Poetry 2011)&#8217;s poem &#8220;The Hive,&#8221; about what happened in Newtown, CT, was selected by Gerald Stern as a finalist for <a href=\"http:\/\/jewishcurrents.org\/gerald-stern-on-the-winners-of-the-2013-raynes-poetry-competition-16577\">The Raynes Poetry Competition<\/a>.\u00a0 It has been published in the anthology <a href=\"http:\/\/jewishcurrents.bigcartel.com\/product\/the-american-dream\">The American Dream<\/a>, put out by Blue Thread\/Jewish Currents.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations, Lisa!<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Hiton is a  Chicago native. \u00a0She holds an MFA in poetry from Boston University  and an M.Ed. in Arts in Education from Harvard University. \u00a0Her poems  have appeared or are forthcoming in <em>Hayden&#8217;s Ferry Review<\/em>, <em>Linebreak<\/em>, <em>The Cortland Review<\/em>, <em>Indiana Review<\/em>,\u00a0and <em>DMQ Review <\/em>among  others. \u00a0She has received fellowships from the New York State Summer  Writers Institute and the MU Writing Workshops in Greece, and a  nomination for the Pushcart Prize.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy July, everyone!
