BU Online Students Study in India

The following post is from Jennifer Birch, a current BU Online student in the Master of Science in Project Management program.  She traveled to India in January 2010 with 20 other BU students, BU President Bob Brown, and the Dean of Metropolitan College, Jay Halfond:

“In January 2010, Boston University (BU), in partnership with Infosys, afforded online and on-campus students the opportunity travel to India for one week to study concepts of “Doing Business in and with India.” Study occurred through organized seminars, group discussions, and direct conversations with Infosys employees. Infosys was an excellent case study choice as it is a highly impressive company built on a foundation of values, quality, people, and infrastructure. I enjoyed learning from real-world executives in a collaborative environment with an insightful and worldly group of students. As part of the pilot course, I felt the course was extremely valuable and worthwhile–truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Given India’s role in the global business environment, it is recommended that this course be kept on the Boston University curriculum for the foreseeable future.”

Thank you Infosys being the partner. I believe this kind of exposure is much needed. It certainly helps to find the mutual way to do business. Hope to see more initiatives in the direction.
