So Tiger\u2019s going to meet the media at the Masters huh?…well, just what media is that\u2026the hand picked select few who can obtain credentials from the PGA that\u2019s who\u2026If you\u2019ve ever been through that process, you know we\u2019re not talking TMZ or the National Enquirer here\u2026and that brings us to the\u00a0 central issue \u2013 access\u2026that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about \u2026whether it\u2019s Bill Belichick, Tiger Woods or the high school quarterback, if you don\u2019t have access, you can\u2019t do your job\u2026The PGA carefully screens who sits in on the post round newsers and if you\u2019ve ever been a part of that you know you have to raise your hand to even get the opportunity to ask a question\u2026Ask a question that might raise an eyebrow and off to the bunker you go\u2026getting back in the good graces is no small task\u2026That goes for the other sports as well\u2026some years ago the Boston Herald ran an item about Belichick\u2019s marital situation\u2026their football beat reporters got the cold shoulder even though it wasn\u2019t the sports section that carried the item\u2026I think they call that guilty by association!..that\u2019s not uncommon when you have to deal with Media relations people who own that access you need and want\u2026<\/p>\n
