Through the organization of social and departmental events, we aim to foster and grow an academic community comprised of participation from all cohorts. GSHAAA also plans a variety of programs aimed at providing mentorship to new students, navigating degree requirements, and preparing for professional life beyond BU.<\/p>\n<p>We seek to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Provide opportunities for graduate students to present their work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Organize reading groups, courses, and lectures given by guest speakers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Host informal orientations and workshops on professional and academic development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oversee an annual symposium and journal volume for graduate student research.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assist graduate students with financial support for research, travel, or other needs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sponsor social events that encourage the development of an HAA community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Foster a collegial, collaborative, and equitable relationship among all students and faculty.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*All graduate students in HAA are automatically members of GSHAAA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome!
