His Holiness spoke out against the role of women in the Church shifting from one of \u201cservice\u201d to one of \u201cservitude\u201d, as reported on Globalpost<\/a>. For this, we commend the Holy Father.<\/p>\n

However, in elaborating his point, the Supreme Pastor (a man of many names \u2013 seriously, check them out here<\/a>) went on to make some points which are worth questioning:<\/p>\n

The \u201csort of emancipation\u201d that allows women to enter traditionally male domains may rob them of \u201cthe very femininity that characterizes them\u201d.

\nWhatever cultural and social changes have occurred or may occur, \u201cthe fact remains that it is the woman who conceives, carries and brings into the world the children of men,\u201d the pontiff said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
