The other \u2018F\u2019-word.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Me: *thoroughly confused* \u201cI\u2019m afraid I\u2019m not following ,ma\u2019am\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Woman: \u201cThe \u2018F\u2019-word, you know!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Me: \u201cReally, ma\u2019am, I don\u2019t. Would you like to write it down for me to\u2014\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Woman: \u201cFOR CHRIST\u2019S SAKE! <strong>FEMINISM<\/strong>! I\u2019m looking for a book on feminism! Now the whole store knows my business! THANK YOU!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(She proceeds to quickly flee the store, apologizing to other patrons as she leaves.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Next Customer: \u201cIs she going to be all right?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Me: \u201cI certainly hope so.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>One hopes that if the woman hadn\u2019t fled in fear of being branded a feminist, the employee would have helped assure her that the F-label isn\u2019t something to be ashamed of. A great quote by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.katenash.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kate Nash<\/a> comes to mind:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Feminism is not a dirty word.
