\nas the slithering grey serpent
\npungent and choking
\nfilled my nostrils with a suffocating stench
\nGoodbye god
\nSigned, sealed, delivered
\nThe song is being sung
\nand i know i\u2019m supposed
\nto like it
\nbut it feels like some kind of mockery
\nlike a death knoll
\nMy last rites are too
\nbeautiful
\nto be granted
\nThey lay sleeping in the
\nblue and red bulbous wax
\nof still warm birthday candles
\ndrip-drip-dripping
\nCold now
\nHow do you feel, (your name here)?

\nCar keys jagged
\ngripped between my cold fingers
\nare a lie
\nMaybe i\u2019m in denial
\nThey become reminders
\ndigging into my flesh that

\nand songs lure
\nand i\u2019m not trying to sing
