PM100: Project Management Essentials

PM100 is a self-paced laboratory which will provide a foundation for your success in the entire family of PM courses at Boston University.
This online, non-credit laboratory course will teach students how to apply basic project management concepts aligned with the latest project management standard – the PMBOK® Guide, 6th Edition, and will engage you as you become a hands-on project manager, using a threaded, Boston-flavored, sustainability-oriented example case study. In this case study – a retrofit to a homeless shelter to allow use of greywater, you’ll apply the concepts using Microsoft Project Professional, as well as key Microsoft Excel add-ins to practice using these tools for later use in Project, Program, and/or Portfolio management. PM100 is an enabler of success for students in BU MET’s Graduate PM program.
Using lectures, lecture notes, test-yourself check-ins, quizzes, and exercises in Microsoft Project (you get to play with the software!), you will develop a comfort level in these fundamentals so that your work in the project management courses will be facilitated.
