Program Goals

The goal of the MET AD on-campus MSAS programs and specializations is to deliver meaningful and rigorous advanced education to a mix of international (both visiting and degree-seeking) and domestic students in a face-to-face setting, utilizing the strengths and resources of the Boston University campus and facilities.

The goals, and knowledge and skills of each degree specialization varies naturally from program to program. Please visit each program specialization page for a vision of the degree. However, our goal is to graduate students who possess the ability to work and lead effectively in increasingly diverse and international situations and organizations, in dynamic and turbulent economic, cultural, social, and legal environments. All programs aim to have the following department wide goals.

  1. Develop effective managerial, ethical, organizational, communications, and analytical skills
  2. Think creatively and critically in order to resolve ambiguity and uncertainty, utilizing effective technical tools and research skills
  3. Understand, manage, and lead meaningful change within individuals, groups, and organizations – and develop those skills necessary to lead in those settings with an emphasis on communications and leadership
