A: Our innovative laboratories provide a self-paced mechanism to get everyone up to speed with the same vocabulary, framework, and capabilities to use the accompanying software for our courses.<\/em><\/p>\n Q: What\u2019s the learning structure of the courses in your program?<\/p>\n A. <\/em>We\u2019ve built our courses around you<\/strong>. Our experienced faculty use a teaching style in which you work in project teams (as you would in a real project).\u00a0 Of course, there are lectures, but in many ways, the classroom is flipped \u2013 although there are lectures, they are interspersed with videos, exercises, and time to work on team projects, with assistance from the faculty as you do so.\u00a0 It\u2019s not uncommon to find students participating in games or role-plays as a way to actively learn project concepts such as estimation.<\/em><\/p>\n Q. Are your courses aligned with industry standards?<\/p>\n A. Not only are our courses aligned with the Project Management Institute\u2019s PMBOK\u00ae Guide (always the latest edition), members of our faculty are involved with creating those standards. <\/em><\/p>\n Q. We are constantly revising cases and assignments to keep the material aligned with industry trends. We work with local industry and government to illustrate the learning with cases that come from recent project successes and failures, so that you can build from the successes and avoid project pitfalls.<\/em> <\/em><\/p>\n Q. How do you keep your students engaged with the program?<\/p>\n A. We have a PM Student Organization which sponsors social and learning events. Students have the opportunity to work as Graduate Assistants on course they have completed, or to assist in research.
