About Me

Ever since I was a young girl watching the evening news in my living room, I knew that I wanted to go into the field of broadcast journalism. Everyday at class, and during my extra curricular activities, these feelings are being confirmed. As a Junior at Boston University, majoring in Broadcast Journalism, I have begun to develop skills that are vital to this field through my internship, coursework, and extracurricular activities.

This past fall, I was given the opportunity to get hands on work in the industry through my internship with WHDH-Channel 7 News Sports Department. Currently, I am enrolled in a sports broadcast journalism class at Boston University where we produce packages, anchor, report live, edit, and write stories. In addition, I am a producer of BUTV10’s sports shows Terrier Nation and Terrier Pregame. I also report the sports headlines for BUTV10’s morning news show, The Wire. While working on these shows, I have learned valuable knowledge of how to write and report stories, as well as how to operate cameras, the switchboard, audio, and editing systems.

During my work with the Daily Free Press, I covered Men’s Lacrosse and Women’s Field Hockey. I was responsible for attending home games and press conferences and also calling the coach and players for quotes, if it was an away game. I also learned how to write proper game previews and recaps that must be turned in on deadline. All of these experiences have taught me how to produce better content, as well as learn the responsibilities of a journalist.

I hope you enjoy my blog which includes some of my weekly photo posts as well as my written stories, photo/audio slideshow, and video on recent Boston news, a lot of which pertains to Boston University and its students.  I am very good at voicing my own opinions, however I also take great care when listening to others, so please be sure to reach out or leave comment!
