{"id":105,"date":"2011-01-12T13:27:14","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T17:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/mzank\/?page_id=105"},"modified":"2022-12-06T09:55:08","modified_gmt":"2022-12-06T14:55:08","slug":"projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/mzank\/projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Academic life unfolds in networks and projects that help to realize the ideas of entire communities of scholars and build collegial relations.<\/p>\n<p>Past projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/jtr.shanti.virginia.edu\/old-series-1991-2002\/\">Journal and Discussions of Textual Reasonin<\/a>g, a postmodern Jewish philosophy network, where I was active from 1994 until 2002.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/secularjudaismbu.blogspot.com\/\">&#8220;Other Within&#8221;<\/a> project, a Posen Foundation grant funded program at Boston University that, in addition to public programming, introduced three new Jewish Studies courses into the Religion curriculum, some of them team-taught, with Adam Seligman and Abigail Gillman.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Projects under the auspices of the Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/economic-racism\/\">Economic Racism in Comparative Perspective<\/a>: US and Germany (PI Jonathan Zatlin)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/modern-med\/\">Modern Mediterranean Identities<\/a> series (PI Kimberly Arkin)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/maccabees\/\">The Maccabees Project<\/a> (PI Andrea Berlin)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Current and ongoing projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/mzank\/2018\/04\/29\/adventures-in-jewish-philosophy\/\">Maimonides and his modern readers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bu.edu\/mzank\/2022\/03\/25\/research-cluster-religious-structures-of-modernity\/\">Research Cluster: Religious Structures of Modernity<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/holycityjerusalem.wordpress.com\/\">Jerusalem studies<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academic life unfolds in networks and projects that help to realize the ideas of entire communities of scholars and build collegial relations.
