I began\u00a0working for the Eagle Tribune in North Andover where I was part of a team that won a 1988 Pulitzer Prize. I\u2019ve worked for Getty Images, Gamma, Gamma Liaison and recently photographed\u00a0for Polaris Images.<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

After nearly 40 years in journalism, \u00a025 of them in the classroom, I still wonder what students think as I\u00a0guide them to be great story tellers. Most share my passion for story telling. \u00a0And it’s that passion that will become their greatest guide.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve watched students light up at presidential events as if they were at a rock concert. Eyes wide as they connect to a national story alongside seasoned professionals.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen that same excitement hundreds of times, when students connect with life and tell \u00a0important community stories.<\/p>\n

What do students think when they hear me explain how to find an angle, how to get access\u00a0and\u00a0build a story with facts and finesse, and to connect with their\u00a0audience? I\u2019m not sure. They might consider me quirky because I\u2019ll do a little dance if I think it will help to make a point. <\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d like students to think of me as someone who really cares about story telling, that it should come somewhere near the top of Maslow\u2019s Hierarchy of Needs between self-actualization and love. \u00a0I would like them to think of me as a mentor who is there to help them to realize their passion.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
