Note: Boston University Metropolitan College does not offer any doctoral program as you might know already. Of course other colleges at BU offer such advanced degrees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here is a checklist I have created for you to review. Do you qualify for consideration?<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reasons I Would Write a Letter of Recommendation (and I speak for most faculty in the program as well):<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>The student has a strong GPA (3.7 or higher)<\/li>\n<li>The student specifically has an A grade in courses related to the doctoral program of interest.<\/li>\n<li>I know the student well from having them in two classes.<\/li>\n<li>The student shows strong critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills.<\/li>\n<li>The student participates actively in class discussions and asks insightful questions in class.<\/li>\n<li>The student produced an outstanding research paper or term project.<\/li>\n<li>The student has relevant research, internship, or work experience in the field.<\/li>\n<li>The student communicates professionally and articulately.<\/li>\n<li>The student has clear research interests aligned with the doctoral program.<\/li>\n<li>The student understands his\/her motivation for doing doctoral degree.<\/li>\n<li>The student has clearly defined research interests<\/li>\n<li>The student is applying to programs that are not a stretch given their qualifications.<\/li>\n<li>The student is realistic about admissions to doctoral study, recognizing that 98% of the applications will get rejected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The director and faculty get several requests from students to write a letter of recommendation to study at a doctoral program.
