The CAS/GRS Professional Development Mentoring Program developed its pilot program in Spring 2019, pairing roughly 30 mentors and mentees. This program was designed to address the expressed need of our CAS/GRS administrative staff community for programming to support career development and professional relationship building.

Interested CAS administrators serve as mentors or mentees and take part in monthly meetings (virtual or face-to-face) with a colleague they are matched with based on shared interests and expertise. In addition, the CAS/GRS Professional Development Committee also creates community events for the mentor/mentees to meet with other pairs, such as an orientation event, coffee hours, community service events, and more!

Mentees include professional staff members who desire advice, resources, and connecting with other CAS administrative staff, and are usually relatively new to BU. Mentors include CAS staff members from various departments who have experience in their roles and within the field of higher education and wish to support newer professional staff members.
