Students in our Young Artists Vocal Program (YAVP) have been eagerly awaiting large performance opportunities. Saturday, August 2, provided just that. YAVP performed a lovely concert in Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, featuring a wide variety of works. The program had something for everyone, and the concert ended in an extensive standing ovation.
However, they weren’t finished quite yet. That same evening, YAVP members were back at Tanglewood. They performed beautifully in one of the most highly-anticipated programs of the summer, John Williams’ Film Night. The concert drew an estimated crowd of 18,000 people, with the program featuring music of John Williams conducted by John Williams himself. Our YAVP students performed in the famed Koussevitzky Shed alongside members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. It was truly an incredible day for YAVP, and we are so proud of their accomplishments!
