In the wild whirlwind that is the closing weekend of the Young Artist Programs, we enjoyed our last round of exciting and emotional concerts. On Saturday, the Young Artists Piano Program showcased their talented students one last time. The West Street Theater on campus was filled with the mellifluous sounds of the piano. The program, heavily featured compositions by Chopin and transcriptions by Liszt, allowing the students to demonstrate the full range of their virtuosity, musical expression, and growth over the past weeks. In addition to this last recital, the piano students have participated in a large number of concerts throughout the Berkshires as part of BUTI’s Outreach Concert Series. The program’s students have performed at the Kimball Farms Lifecare Community and EPOCH Assisted Living in Pittsfield many times over the past few weeks, sharing their passion for music with the residents. The students have begun their journeys home and their presence is sorely missed not only from BUTI’s campus but also within the Lenox community. Their musical gifts have touched many and we know that they will continue to reach out to many others in the future as they grow into young adults and talented musicians.
