We support undergraduate students seeking to share their passion for neuroscience and psychology with faculty, other students, and the general public. <em>The Nerve<\/em> is a subsidiary organization of Mind &amp; Brain Society, an affiliate of the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience at Boston University.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The purpose of <\/span><i>The Nerve<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is to provide a platform for undergraduate students to publish their work related to the mind and brain sciences (including neuroscience, psychology, and beyond). Rather than rejecting the field&#8217;s rigorous norms, <em>The Nerve<\/em> mirrors them, publishing at the standard of the field&#8217;s most respected outlets.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family: 'Libre Caslon Display', Georgia, serif;font-weight: normal;font-size: 22px;color: #3350e2;border-top: 1px solid #dfe3e8;padding-top: 30px;margin-bottom: 14px;margin-top: 40px\"><strong>How We&#8217;re Organized<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px;line-height: 1.75;margin: 0 0 16px 0\"><em>The Nerve<\/em> is primarily organized around our annual April journal publication, typically through weekly general meetings held on Sundays at 5pm. Throughout the year, we also host educational workshops and activities for writers, editors, and designers, alongside outreach events that promote faculty-student relationships. <em>The Nerve<\/em> Blog runs alongside the journal, posting shorter-form pieces continuously throughout the academic year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px;line-height: 1.75;margin: 0\">Members earn attendance points at general meetings, which contribute toward eligibility for E-Board status. A minimum of 10 points is required to apply for an E-Board position, with applications opening each April.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-family: 'Libre Caslon Display', Georgia, serif;font-weight: normal;font-size: 22px;color: #3350e2;border-top: 1px solid #dfe3e8;padding-top: 30px;margin-bottom: 14px;margin-top: 40px\"><strong>The Nerve Symposium<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-size: 15px;line-height: 1.75;margin: 0\">Our annual Symposium offers exceptional contributors to <em>The Nerve<\/em> the opportunity to present their work to faculty and staff, along with a chance to publicize their name within the Boston University community and demonstrate their passion and hard work at a dedicated speaking event.
