Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships

After our successful skate at the New England Challenge Cup, we were excited to travel to Lake Placid, NY to compete in the 2013 Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships.  Lake Placid was the location of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, where the US “Miracle on Ice” hockey team won gold in 1980.   Our team was excited to have the opportunity to compete in such a historic location.  We got the chance to practice on the 1980 Herb Brooks Rink – the same ice that the US hockey team skated on in 1980! After 2 days of practice in Lake Placid, we were ready to compete!  The team had an early 4am wakeup call because we were to compete at 7am, but we were excited nonetheless! We had our best skate of the season and the girls were so thrilled!  We competed against 10 other colleges and we WON this event! It was the perfect end to an UNDEFEATED season!

Now that we’re back in Boston, we’re excited for the fun events we have planned for the rest of this semester!  The 2013 World Synchronized Skating Championships are being held at our home rink here at BU April 2-7!  We’re excited to watch the event and see BUSST alumni that are coming to Boston for the event!

Terrier Weekend 2013 will be held the same weekend as Worlds! Please e-mail busynchroskate@gmail.com for more information!  Hope to see you there!
