Devin Hahn: Tokyo

Devin is a city kid. He has developed a permanent crick in his neck from standing at the feet of skyscrapers and staring up. Once, when he was seven years old, Devin had a panic attack at his grandparents’ house in suburban Pennsylvania because he couldn’t hear any traffic noises in the night. So he’s going to Tokyo, where the buildings never end, the traffic never stops, and apparently nobody speaks English… Among his aspirations are to witness legendary bartender Kazuo Ueda’s famous “hard shake,” to drink coffee and listen to live music in as many jazz kissaten as he can find, and to discover where Haruki Murakami gets all his crazy ideas.
