BUWIC introduces Professor Xiaowei Zhuang as their 2009-2010 Pfizer-sponsored speaker.
Dr. Zhuang is Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology and Physics and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator at Harvard University (Zhuang Homepage).
BUWIC is honored to bring Professor Zhuang to the Chemistry Department October 5th for an entire day of open discussion and learning. She will meet with graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff to discuss her research in nanoscopic fluorescence imaging of cells and tissues and the current state-of-the art techniques in bioimaging that her lab employs.
BUWIC will host a “Q & A” lunch seminar with Dr. Zhaung from 12 to 1:20 p.m. in LSEB 103.
The Department of Chemistry will then introduce Dr. Zhaung as the Colloquium speaker at 4 p.m. in LSEB B01. She will present her research on single-molecule biology and bioimaging to study the behavior of individual molecules and complexes in vitro and in live cells.
