IRG seeks a Demand Side Management and Utility Specialist. This position provides management and/or technical expertise for the Division to project oversight, technical contract compliance and business development activities. The primary measure of success in this role will be the leadership in Demand Side Management and development of business around DSM in power utilities (generation, transmission and distribution) and support in energy efficiency field. Although the primary business of EEM is in USAID financed projects, the development and implementation of private sector projects may also form a significant portion of this role. This position is also accountable for interdependent work: with other Division members, project partners and subcontractors, clients, other IRG Divisions, COPs, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Relevant university degree, Master’s degree preferred; Prior Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in energy sector, power utility experience desired; DSM Project development and implementation experience required; EE experience desired; Training skills and experience would be an asset; Experience managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams; Experience in international projects and especially in USAID-financed projects preferred; Will demonstrate an ability to negotiate with and influence others. Language: No language requirement other than English. Software Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook. Travel: Candidate must be willing to travel to developing countries in Africa, Southeast Europe and Eurasia, Central Asia, South and Southeast Asia; assignments will likely include work in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sudan, Iraq and other sensitive environments. Candidates unwilling to travel to these countries should not apply. Salary will commensurate with experience.
