Spring Semester Internship Opportunity

Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots, the Jane Goodall Institute’s

global humanitarian and environmental youth program, is

seeking candidates for a part-time volunteer internship in

our Boston office. The position is 10-15 hours per week, beginning

in late January and lasting for 4 months. There is the possibility the

internship could turn into a year-long position. Please include your

earliest start date, earliest end date and your weekly schedule in

Preferred skills:

  • Be self-motivated and have a positive attitude!
  • Desire to learn about non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills—able to work with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends for vital organizational events.
  • Belief in the mission of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and the Jane Goodall Institute.

The Roots & Shoots Intern:

  • Assists in the support and tracking of Roots & Shoots groups and their service projects.
  • Supports Roots & Shoots special events—preparation and participation.
  • Provide clerical support in the office.
  • Helps out with a wide range of tasks such as: youth service project planning and implementation, donor development, production of web-based communication, contacting and assisting Roots & Shoots members and working with the press.
  • Will be provided non-profit management training and mentorship by a Roots & Shoots staff member.
