After a long off season, BU Roller Hockey was very eager to get back on the rink. Last year, the Terriers had their best season in recent memory by making the Regional Playoffs. Despite the battle and effort at regionals, the team was unable to make it through the round robin, losing out on a tiebreaker. The squad lost five key players from last season through graduation and hoped to acquire new talent this year to help get back to regionals and beyond. Tryouts were held September 19th – 22nd at FitRec.
Tryouts were very successful and the team added many new faces. Joining the Terriers this season are Nick Breed (2016), Kyle Clauss (2014), Andrew Filipek (2016), and Brian Gelblat (2017). Carlos Lovera (2016) who had skated with the team during the 2011-2012 season, has also rejoined the team this year. Mike Carpenter (ENG ’13) has been brought on board as an assistant coach after graduating last year as an assistant captain. His knowledge and experience will be a great addition. Perry Herman (COM ’03) returns for his third year as head coach.
