Hello!

My name is Laura, and I’m a third year PhD student in the Astronomy Department at BU. I’m working with Professor Chuanfei Dong to study the atmospheres of rocky exoplanets via magetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulation.

My research interests are centered around what makes an (exo)planet habitable, which is defined as the ability to host liquid water on its surface. In particular, I am interested in determining what kinds of planets are most likely to have atmospheres, which vastly improve prospects for habitability.
