Determining our core values can help provide a platform for innovation and change. Both are pointless if they are done merely for their own sake. By determining the values from which we seek to change and innovate can lead us forward in a strategic way. It does seem like that articulation can be part of this strategic planning process.

In order to set the pace, we have to be constantly aware and engaged with what is happening in industry, pedagogy, and global innovations that all effect our disciplines. This also speaks to the importance of the faculty’s professional contributions and they need the time, space and support to be innovative.
