I am particularly interested in how speech communication draws upon general cognitive mechanisms underlying attention, memory, and learning. My research program integrates theoretical models from cognitive psychology and speech science with empirical approaches from auditory cognitive neuroscience. I use a combination of behavioral methods and multimodal EEG and fMRI neuroimaging to investigate the dynamic neural interactions between the auditory system and higher-level cognition.
