VGC Sandbox is an interactive visualization system being developed by the club that will be placed in the central atrium on the first floor of the Photonics Building. It will consist of a large LCD panel or projector, CUDA-enabled PC, and several video cameras. The cameras will serve as a man-machine interface to capture human gestures and motion in order to interact with various applications displayed on the panel/projector. The PC will be equipped with CUDA-enabled graphics card(s) in order to facilitate real-time execution of the applications.
Some envisaged applications of the VGC Sandbox are:
- presentation of fun demos developed by club members,
- demonstration of research results produced in the ECE Department,
- any crazy application club members might want to develop,
