A dinner lets a family being together; important announcements are often made on table.

Initially, second daughter–Jia Chien is the first person who wants to move out of the big house, but at the end she is the only one who stays with her father.

The three sisters are quite different in their minds, positions and life experiences. Thus, they always have estrangement with each other.

The father is always worried about his three daughters. However, when his daughters tell him about their big (also unpleasant ) decisions, he chooses to let them go.

The father’s new marriage, Jia Chan and Jia Ning’s marriage, and Jia Chien’s relationship with her “boyfriend” are all, literally, unusual.

Finally, the father lets his daughter cooking in the  kitchen and his taste recovers. The last scene is the father and his second daughter holding their hands with each other. It seems from then on their relationship will be better than before.
