Guest Post – Check out Men’s Hoops!

1958/59 Team -- Terriers first NCAA AppearanceIt’s about that time of year when students are settling back into classes and the Men’s Ice Hockey team is contending for the always-exhilarating Beanpot Championship.  However, this year, one group has been overlooked:  BU Men’s Basketball.

Tied for first in the America East Conference and led by two of the conference’s brightest stars, Corey Lowe and John Holland, the Terriers are riding a six-game winning streak and hot enough to melt the ice on Comm. Ave.  Basketball always has been, and always will be, my favorite sport.  The high-flying dunks and dazzling thrills keep me yelling for 40 straight minutes of fast-paced action, and BU Basketball is no exception.  Poised for one of our best seasons in years, the Terriers face off against the Great Danes of Albany this Thursday at Agganis Arena at 7 p.m.

After the game, join Dean Elmore for the largest, not to mention cheesiest, photograph in BU history.  However corny it may be, this picture, unlike other large gatherings such as graduation or SPLASH, will feature many faculty members and students from every class.  Unfortunately, I have class and will not be able to attend the game, but you can be sure I’ll be following along online.  So come out this Thursday night decked in scarlet and red, and support our 100th season of Men’s Basketball as we show Albany that our fans’ bark is just as strong as our Terriers’ bite.
