Reiner Wiehl, who passed away on Dec 30, 2010, was a quiet, wise, and persistent voice in the study of Rosenzweig and Cohen. I first heard him in Heidelberg, were he had taught since 1976 and where he enjoyed the status of a professor emeritus. I met Reiner Wiehl again at several gatherings and conferences of the Hermann Cohen Society. For Helmut Holzhey’s obituary for Reiner Wiehl, see HERE.
