Supported by a grant from the Center for Cultural Judaism, “The Other Within,” a BU faculty initiative, is developing three new, interdisciplinary courses dealing, respectively, with modernity and Jewish identity (RN339 The Modern Jew), the dialectic of norm and deviation in the formation of Jewish identity (RN332 The Heretical Jew), and the many political forms and dimensions of Jewish existence (RN### The Political Jew). My fellow-primary investigators for this grant were Prof. Abigail Gillman and Adam Seligman. For more information on these courses and co-curricular programming see the program website.
