We are off to a great start for the new season! We have been working so hard and it is definitely paying off! We have begun to choreograph our program – our music is upbeat and so much fun to skate to! We are loving every minute of it and we can not wait to show our new program at the USFSA Monitoring session on November 22nd at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA! We’ve updated our blog, so be sure to click around and look at all of our new skaters and our awesome new assistant coach! We have so much to share with everyone, so we will most definitely keep everyone in the loop! Keep an eye out for our first-ever e-newsletter, coming soon!

2014-2015 Season!

Only a couple of more weeks before it is time for everyone to move back to school and resume classes! That means that synchro season is quickly approaching! We are preparing for our year and we can't wait to get back on the ice as a team and practice together again! So exciting!!

GOOD NEWS, STUDENTS! We will be attending SPLASH this year! Come find us and sign up for the team, ask questions, and hang out with us! It's going to be a blast! SPLASH will take place on Saturday, September 6th from 12pm-2pm on Nickerson Field. We will have information regarding the upcoming year available for you! See you there!

Competition is Just Around the Corner!!

With just six days until our first competition, we are really getting into gear and working super hard during our last few practices! Today we had a great practice with many drills and run throughs! Although the girls are tired and actively thinking about finals, everyone worked so hard out on the ice today and we are so proud and so thankful for everyone's dedication to skating as a team! It's amazing! You can feel the positive energy from every single skater and we are all so excited to compete this coming weekend!

Walking for a Cure!

While still in the pre-synchro season, the team has the chance to work with a community service project. Each year, the Terrierettes choose participate in the Making Strides Walk in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Not only is it an excellent team bonding experience, but it also gives BU Synchro Skating the opportunity to step out into the community and help others in need. Together, the team fundraises and has a blast doing it! Rain or shine, the synchro girls will walk for a cure! Excellent job girls!

Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships

After our successful skate at the New England Challenge Cup, we were excited to travel to Lake Placid, NY to compete in the 2013 Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships.  Lake Placid was the location of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, where the US "Miracle on Ice" hockey team won gold in 1980.   Our team was excited to have the opportunity to compete in such a historic location.  We got the chance to practice on the 1980 Herb Brooks Rink - the same ice that the US hockey team skated on in 1980! After 2 days of practice in Lake Placid, we were ready to compete!  The team had an early 4am wakeup call because we were to compete at 7am, but we were excited nonetheless! We had our best skate of the season and the girls were so thrilled!  We competed against 10 other colleges and we WON this event! It was the perfect end to an UNDEFEATED season!

Now that we're back in Boston, we're excited for the fun events we have planned for the rest of this semester!  The 2013 World Synchronized Skating Championships are being held at our home rink here at BU April 2-7!  We're excited to watch the event and see BUSST alumni that are coming to Boston for the event!

Terrier Weekend 2013 will be held the same weekend as Worlds! Please e-mail busynchroskate@gmail.com for more information!  Hope to see you there!

New England Challenge Cup

The beginning of the semester has been quite busy for the BU Synchronized Skating Team! We returned to campus a few days early from our winter break to resume practices.  After a few days of on- and off-ice practice and some fun team events, we were ready to compete at the New England Challenge Cup.  We had a great skate and WON the competition! We also got the chance to watch our coach, Kate Wilson, skate with Esprit de Corps Adult team. (Fun fact: the Esprit de Corps teams are coached by our other coach, Dede Wilson.) Kate's team won their event as well!
