For Astro Majors
Don’t know what to do after graduation? You can check out your job or graduate school options in many ways, so here are a few resources to get you started.
For some personal advice, Professor Spence, Professor Hughes, and Professor Clarke have been excellent resources for the BUAS Officers and other undergrads. BU’s Office of Career Services can also provide individual attention with employer lists, career fests, credential services, resume help, and interview advice. Information about graduate school options is also available.
The Who’s Hiring Physics Bachelors website has a state-by-state guide with companies who recently hired physics (and some astronomy) undergraduates; statistics are also available. The American Institute of Physics maintains an online job register and compiles data about Physics and Astronomy education and employment.
The American Astronomical Society is also an excellent resource, with career services, grant information, and education opportunities.
