Cat Bordhi, Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles: A Manual of Elegant Knitting Techniques and Patterns, Passing Paws, 2001
This is a self-published pamphlet that demonstrates very clearly the two circular needle technique. She has several other sock books as well.

Patterns for tapestry style mittens and socks. Zilboorg is a pioneer. Her books are not easy to find, but this one has been re-printed.

Incredible, gorgeous, inspiring book with a discussion of Turkish knitting technique. The motifs can be adapted for other projects.
