Join the Blog Team

The Nerve Blog is the online publication of The Nerve Journal, operating continuously throughout the academic year with weekly updates. Authorship, editorial review, and publication are handled by the Blog Team — a focused subset of our Editorial Board that operates under the direct supervision of the Editor-in-Chief.

Unlike general Editorial Team membership, which only requires completing training, the Blog Team is application-based. We’re looking for journal editors who want to focus the bulk of their time and energy on the blog specifically — while journal work is still welcome if you want it, it isn’t required once you’re on the Blog Team.

Eligibility

You must be an approved journal editor (i.e. have completed Editor Training) before applying to the Blog Team.

The Blog Editor Role

Blog Editors are responsible for both editing and authoring posts. Assignments depend on the volume of submissions received — if no suitable submissions are available, Blog Editors produce original pieces instead. When authoring, Blog Editors coordinate with the Editor-in-Chief on topics, scope, and timeline.

Assignments are tracked through a shared Google Spreadsheet visible to the whole Blog Team.

How to Apply

Applications are open to all approved journal editors.
