Yesterday (Sunday, 4/25) was our last practice of the spring semester. To recap, we were able to safely conduct nine (9) practices this semester! We are incredibly grateful to have been able to still practice given the pandemic. Many of our current players have taken the next steps and gotten vaccinated, while others are in the process of receiving/scheduling their doses! We are hopeful this, and other public health measures will allow us to resume normal water polo activities in the fall.
This past semester we were also able to welcome six (6) new players to the team which is so exciting given that we have nine (9) graduating seniors/graduate students (shoutout Andi Kokkinos).
Giving Day 2021 was also a success, as we raised just over $4,200 from 75+ donors! These donations will help keep the club thriving by paying for new water polo balls, tournament fees, travel fees, pool time, amongst many other necessary things. Regardless of how crazy this year has been, Women’s Water Polo powered through and had a very successful year overall.
We will be holding Executive Board Elections for 2021-2022 school year later this week, so stay tuned to meet the new leaders!
