Thanos Matthai, a member of the J.D. Class of 2011, is originally from India but has lived in several countries as a result of his father’s job with the United Nations. He has lived in Thailand (where he was born), Japan, Finland, Austria and the United States. He earned his undergraduate degree in 2007 from Boston University’s College of Communication. Prior to law school, Thanos spent one year working at the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, the largest funder of civil legal aid in Massachusetts. At BU School of Law, he is on the Journal of Science and Technology Law and is the Social Chair of the South Asian Law Students Association. In his free time, Thanos enjoys cooking, watching sports (football, basketball and soccer), wishing he were on “Mad Men” and growing his iTunes collection.
