With topics ranging from traffic on the Sagamore Bridge to the impact of the swine flu, the winners of the 2009 Special Fall Contest showed enterprise and articulateness, according to the Judging Panel.
This year’s focus was on localizing a regional, national or global story for a school audience.
The winners are

- “Swine Flu” stories by Samantha Cabral, Tayla Arruda and Katie Dupree, The Villager, Westport High School, Westport, Mass.
