1) What do you like about it?
Paper 2 is based on my understanding of Ang Lee’s film. I like this film very much, since there are a lot of tiny and concealed details could be explored in the movie. After I find out, I am really impressed by Ang Lee’s techniques of shooting the film and I must admit that An g Lee was already a master director twenty years ago. While I was composing this essay, I keep recalling those interesting scenes, especially the dialogues between those characters (some are really funny.) Thus, I feel enjoyable while writing this paper.
2) Most Difficult?
Because there are so many elements contained in this film, it’s hard to choose one to be the main topic of the essay. And, after I made the decision, there are so many scenes that can be supports of my thesis, but I can only pick and describe some of the typical scenes from them. I find difficult to describe the shots vividly so that the readers will not feel that I am just stating what happens in that scene. In addition, I am weak at citing references, especially the one from the website.
3) What could you , your classmates or instructors have done differently to improve this assignment?
I think by reading my peer’s paper, I can learn what kind of reflection she gets from the movie, and that might help me to think about my essay more deeply. Furthermore, peer reviewing helps me to change/edit my thesis and even the whole essay into a more clear and understandable way. Professors help us to generate ideas of our essays and also give us some useful comment as well.
