For Monday, Oct. 21:

A) Prepare for a test: Units 1 (pp. 1-11) and 3 (pp. 22-24, 26-28) in World Link 1.

Look at homework papers/photocopies.

Test:

20-30 questions — during the first period before the break

No talking or copying ( = cheating in the U.S.) is allowed during the test.

If any students cheat, the teacher will deduct by at least 10-20 points.

If you are late, you will miss part of the test.

Focus:

Simple present tense:

Examples:  I go to CELOP every weekday.  I have a core class and two elective

classes.

We need to buy fruit and vegetables.

There is/There are

Examples:  There is a horse in our classroom.

There are people from many different countries at CELOP.

Possible types of test questions:

Dictation:            Example– Teacher:                       The students meet their friends at CELOP.

Students write:           The students meet their friends at CELOP.

 

–Unscrambling the words in a sentence:  Example– you/now/are/where

Where are you now?

 

–Listen, and answer the question.  Example–Teacher:  What do you do every weekday evening?

Students:  I eat dinner.  Then I do my homework.  🙂

 

–Answer the written questions.       Example:  How many teachers are there in this class?

There is one teacher in this class.

–Complete the conversation.
